I'm an Australian man who has been living in China since February 2007. And I turn 50 in August 2009.
Whoop-T-do. I am a free thinker, and a deep thinker. I sometimes think I was a hippy born 20 years too late to ride
that cultural wave, but I do love my rock and roll along with my soul.
The thing is, I love Forex Trading - and that's why you are reading this - you're interested in it too. Forex is
my financial and working life and I could not be happier.
I have had large and successful businesses. I've had them up to the back teeth that is. For me the sense of
achievement of building something from the ground up is outweighed by the hassle of its bloody side.
When I was 30 years old, and using $1,100 on credit card, I started a TV antenna installation business. Four and
a half years later, it had 245 staff, its own manufacturing facility, offices in every capital city of Australia
and it had done 250,000 installations across the country and a $3,000,000 a year advertising budget.
Some people say WOW. I say I hated it. I hated that my life was not my own, I could not travel or enjoy myself
or even be seen to make a fool of myself in public - which quite frankly I am very good at, especially on a dance
floor with a skin full. My point is that the business was my prison.
I've always loved and preferred to work from home. One of the businesses I built was an Internet business, which
I ran from home. That was just dumb! Before I knew it, I had 17 people working from there, and the 1 acre of lawn
and garden was a parking lot for them all.
What many people don't know is that before my many businesses I was a cop, and as a Police Officer for 8 years I
locked up some seriously bad people. Murderers, attempted murders, rapist, child molesters, seriously violent
domestic abuse offenders and more than a few bad-ass gang stuff too - the list goes on and on.
But it wasn't until after leaving the Police Force (Western Australia) and entered the World of business that I
found where all the smart criminals were hiding. They were businessmen!
Now I am not saying all business people are crooks - but I am saying that the smartest criminals of all are also
business people. Anyway, enough of that hobby horse of mine.
My point is that I love Forex.
With forex I don't have the headaches and responsibilities of making sure all the employees are cool, looked
after, paid properly, get home safely after a business function, etc.
I don't have to fight the many dangerous people who are also in business. Like, I used to get death threats from
competitors - just because I was so competitive! Give me a break!
Oh, and I don't have to worry about the office politics, who is effecting work flows by having an affair with
who, who is really my friend and not pretending to be with the hope for promotion and advancement within my
firm.
Yeah it's nice to build a business from nothing. But I've been there, done that and ticked it off. My personal
view is that women are better suited to being business owners - they have a greater sense for detail, and they are
ideal for managing all the egos involved.
Forex is for me. It is clean, crisp, exciting, challenging, absorbing - and if done right it is highly
profitable.
Money is not my driving force. Yes I must be paid. Being paid is our scorecard for measuring our achievements.
Still, for me it is about the challenge.
